Curling Alberta is pleased to announce that Britney Andersen has been hired as its Competitions Coordinator, South Alberta. Britney will be based in our Calgary satellite office, and her first day is November 15th.
In this position, Britney will assist host clubs and committees in planning and coordinating all aspects of Curling Alberta sanctioned events. She will also act as a liaison to assist communication and cooperation between Curling Alberta and its members and partners.
Britney holds a degree in Event Management with Entrepreneurship and has over seven years of experience working in the sport, event, and non-profit industries. Most recently, she has held the position of Event Manager and Membership/Tournament Coordinator with the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of Alberta, a not-for-profit organization which offers member services to nearly 550 Golf Professionals who work at over 170 golf facilities across Alberta. During her time there, she managed over 50 events where she was responsible for liaising with hundreds of exhibitors, creating event designs, initiate promotions and communications, manage volunteers, and creating the operation processes including event budgets, timelines, and database management. Her leadership and vision helped to increase attendance at the 2018 Calgary Golf Show by 20% and increased revenue by 13%. She also successfully achieved aggressive fundraising targets in support of the Kids Cancer Care Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Northern Alberta.
Britney is an avid traveler, taking in festivals and events, and camping whenever she has the chance. She enjoys golf, snowboarding, hockey, hiking, football and equestrian. She lives in Calgary with her fiancé, Fredrik, and their rescue pups, Kylo and Cali.
